This is a surgical procedure designed to enhance facial contour by reducing cheek volume through the removal of the buccal fat pads, also known as Bichat’s fat pads. It is performed on an outpatient basis and typically takes approximately 40 minutes.
Procedure
Bichectomy is carried out under local anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision inside the oral mucosa, allowing access to the buccal fat pads, which are then carefully extracted to achieve a more refined facial profile.

Postoperative Care
The recovery period generally ranges from 3 to 5 days, with visible reduction in swelling typically noticeable between days 8 and 10 post-surgery. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous physical activities, apply cold compresses to the treated area, and follow recommended lymphatic drainage therapies to promote optimal healing.
